Business Unit Overview Exelon Power is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the company's fossil and hydroelectric fleet of generating assets. The current fleet has more than a dozen fossil and hydroelectric plants, consisting of 109 units capable of generating approximately 8,000 megawatts of electricity in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Illinois, Texas, and Massachusetts. Exelon Power's diverse generating portfolio enables the company to be competitive in the deregulated power market during the intermediate seasons and peak demand periods. Locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas and Massachusetts Job Description Provides rotating equipment (steam and combustion turbines, generators, condensate and boiler feed pumps) and turbine valves and associated auxiliary equipment engineering support to the Mountain Creek, Handley and LaPorte Stations. Assures superior engineering support is provided. Drives continuous improvement with respect to engineering activities in the area of safety, regulatory compliance, productivity, and cost. Provides rotating equipment engineering support functions to the Mountain Creek, Handley and LaPorte sites including steam and combustion turbine, generator and major pump systems issue resolution, common project implementation, equipment specialists, readiness, and programmatic assessments. Implements standards, programs, processes and best practices within the Technical Services organization, consistent with accepted engineering policies and the priorities of the Technical Manager. Ability to analyze turbine, generator and pump operation, control schematics and process systems; provide troubleshooting to identify equipment degradation. Ability to work on cross-functional teams on minor and major projects. Prepare capital project justification, required work scope, specifications, installation oversight and acceptance testing. Ability to communicate, verbal and written, expertise to team members in the form of reports, procedures and proposals for various equipment. Ability to provide system/equipment troubleshooting and root cause analysis investigation. Interface with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to optimize equipment material condition and incorporate recommendations. Adheres to the conduct of maintenance and maintenance fundamentals. Ability to perform all aspects of completion of minor projects including planning, estimating, organizing and project management skills. Ability to interpret instruction manual material, drawings and prints, including documenting any changes or discrepancies. Available for rotating shift work and overtime as required.
