ALSTOM Grid – Aleader in the grid management industry providing high-voltage equipment, engineered solutions, power electronics, automation, control rooms and service to utility and large industrial customers worldwide, has an opening for a Junior Buyer in its Philadelphia, PA location! 

The Junior Buyer will work closely with the Project Buyers and operations team in support the unit’s purchases of R&D / Project / Production services, materials, and equipment and the commercial group’s procurement estimates and other functions within the business unit’s sourcing strategy, with the objective to provide the unit with the needed goods and services at the right cost, the right time and the right quality.

This position is responsible for:

• Responsible for creation of Purchase Orders within the SAP system, obtaining all approvals necessary in order to provide to the vendor.
• Create and manage Purchase Order (PO) logs on a weekly basis for follow up with vendors on PO acknowledgment, delivery, etc.
• Ensure project invoices are in line with current PO values, if variances occur work with PM and Finance to modify.
• Work with Finance/Shared Services for new vendor creation if new suppliers are chosen.
• Manage all electronic and hard copies of project sourcing documents including approved requisition forms, purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgments.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

General Qualifications:

• 2 to 3 years experience in industrial sourcing, business administration, OR university degree.     
• Experience working with SAP for preparing and maintaining purchasing documents.
