Primary Purpose of Position: Perform Procurement Engineering activities to support Supply, Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering. The activities are performed utilizing plant design bases documents to maintain the approved plant configuration. Major Accountabilities: Determining material classifications and technical purchasing requirements for nuclear power plant parts and components to ensure applicable codes, standards and regulations are established and met Identifying and evaluating equivalent replacements for obsolete equipment Evaluating manufacturer changes to original equipment Determining Commercial Grade Dedication requirements Creating and revising component Bills of Materials Managing reverse engineering projects Resolving receipt inspection discrepancies Determining testing requirements for ensuring parts quality Identifying and resolving Issue Reports for discrepant conditions Determining In-Storage Maintenance and Shelf Life requirements Reviewing Material and Service Requisitions to ensure adequacy of technical and quality requirements Supporting resolution of planned and emergent equipment outages. This accountability includes on-call and shift work assignments as necessary. Typical mechanical equipment responsibilities include: pumps and pump parts, valves and valve parts (including actuators and relief valves), piping, fittings, fluids, insulation, gaskets, and weld rod Typical electrical equipment includes: motors, circuit breakers, motor starters, fuses, relays, inverters, transformers, and bushings Typical Instrumentation & Control equipment includes: process transmitters, power supplies, control modules, recorders, analyzers, and circuit boards Position Requirements: BS Degree in Engineering Minimum of 5 years experience in electrical or engineering Prior experience as a nuclear procurement engineer including performance of: Parts Classifications, Item Equivalency Evaluations, Commercial Grade Dedications, Failure Modes and Effects Analyses, and the other items listed in the Major Accountabilities section Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Knowledge of BWR and/or PWR plant systems and components in the Electrical/I&C/Mechanical areas. Knowledge to satisfy qualification requirements for Exelon Nuclear Procurement Engineering Certification Guides Familiarity with plant design bases, ASME NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, and ASME and ASTM materials standards Familiarity with Design Engineering, Environmental Qualification/Seismic Qualification, and Quality Assurance Classifications Skilled in internet use and the following computer programs: PIMS, PassPort, and Microsoft Office Position Preferences: Multi-discipline knowledge such that the individual can perform evaluations in electrical, mechanical, and I&C disciplines.
