The Boeing Company is seeking a Secure Grid Management Requirements Engineer 4/5. This individual applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead and conduct activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Leads and performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads and performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes; as well as resolve cross-functional technical issues. Qualifications: - Level 4
- Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
- ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
- Level 5
- Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
- ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Boeing Energy is a new business bringing solutions to complex energy problems across the energy domain. This position will report to the Strategic Engineering team lead for Boeing Energy and support the Secure Grid Management (SGM) line of business in determining the customer's mission, operational needs, priorities, and project requirements. Selected candidates will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach working with the SGM and Engineering teams to transform a customer/operational needs into a description of mission operations, bounding use cases, customer value set and priorities, system performance requirements, measure of effectiveness, technical parameters, project plans, and preferred solution architecture to ensure mission success. Candidates must have knowledge of Utility customer operations and infrastructure including electricity generation, transmission, distribution, command and control, demand management, event response, and electricity financial management.
