ALSTOM Grid – Aleader in the grid management industry providing high-voltage equipment, engineered solutions, power electronics, automation, control rooms and service to utility and large industrial customers worldwide, has an opening for a Project Manager in its Canton, OH location! 

The Project Manager, working closely with a Project Engineer, will be in charge of large, complicated high voltage electrical Engineering, Purchasing and Construction (EPC) projects.  On some projects, this position would also do the engineering.  Applicant must be familiar with all areas of electrical power substation construction and management. 

This position is also responsible for:

• Establishing the project organization; Provide technical, financial and schedule requirement
• Maintain prime customer liaison and contact with good communication skills
• Negotiate and contract with all functional disciplines for accomplishment of the necessary work packages and monitor
• Engineering familiarity with transformers, circuit breakers, steel structures, NEC, switches, protective relays (electromechanical, solid state & microprocessor types), Meters and transducers (including intelligent electronic devices), instrument transformers, control switchers and auxiliary control devices, SCADA system remote thermal units, etc.
• Generating relay and control functional logic as well as complete AC and DC elementary diagrams for substation protection, instrumentation and control.
• Specification of all protective relay, meter and control devices, and performance of system studies (short circuit, protective device coordination, and battery sizing calculations).
• Review of vendor submittals and coordination of design requirements with the owner and serving utility.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.

General Qualifications:

• BS in Engineering or other Technical Discipline or equivalent.  A Licensed Professional Engineer is a plus.
• 2-5 years of experience in project management and be familiar with the design and construction techniques and application of instrumentation and control systems, in outdoor utility grade electrical power substations.
• Proficient in English needed for business communication
