The Opportunity: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Field Application Engineer position located in Fairview Heights, IL, Kansas City, MO or Kansas City, KS. Field Application Engineer Responsibilities: - Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact.
- Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software and literature.
- Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.
- Maintain and improve knowledge of all SEL products.
- Teach in training schools for customers and SEL personnel.
- Maintain customer database for customer application information.
- Follow and improve marketing, sales and engineering quality procedures.
Qualifications:- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in protection of electric power systems
- Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
- Experience with protective relay applications and industry practices
- Ability to travel up to 35%
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
- Background check results satisfactory to SEL
- Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience using SEL products
- Preferred knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Power system analysis software
