Basic Qualifications: Must have seven or more years experience managing projects in the analysis, design, specification, installation, or cost estimation of power generation projects. Core Competencies: - Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Business; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. - Demonstrated experience developing spreadsheet based cost and operations models for generation technologies and proposed generation projects. - Demonstrated ability to conduct net present value analysis. - Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with utility transmission and generation assets. - Demonstrated experience with utility regulatory practices. - Demonstrated ability to conduct internet research. - Demonstrated experience in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. - Demonstrated experience in the preparation and delivery of presentations for executive and senior management. - Demonstrated ability to meet commitments, handle multiple assignments, be thorough and organized, and adjust to changing priorities. - Demonstrated experience preparing testimony, responses to data requests, and witnesses. - Demonstrated experience in the identification and resolution of complex issues often controversial in nature, which may or may not have established precedence. - Demonstrated ability to make critical technical and business decisions with minimal direction. - Demonstrated ability to analyze, summarize, and recommend ideas and concepts to senior management in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner. - Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks and safety appropriately, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. - Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation. - Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning. Preferences: P.E. registration, MBA Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will act as the point of contact for Southern California Edison's (SCE) knowledge base of the technical and cost attributes of generation technologies. The candidate will be a technical lead and participate in the evaluation of offers in Energy Supply and Management (ES&M) power. Typical responsibilities include: interfacing with executives and manages from other SCE business units; organizing and managing cross functional (law, treasurer's, transmission, etc) project teams composed of other project managers and technical specialists in the review, analysis, and reporting to senior management of generation opportunities, new technologies, and industry trends; witnessing combustion turbine testing for regulatory compliance and providing guidance or recommendations for anomalies or issues that arise; managing the development, preparation, and litigation of routine and special California Public Utilities Commission applications; representing SCE at generation industry conferences and workshops; consulting with directors and senior managers in the organization for technical solutions; and performing other duties as assigned.
