Assist in preparation of product bulletins, catalogs, manuals, application notes and literature. Maintain product quality by reporting design and application problems. Develop novel ways to apply product portfolio NATURE OF POSITION: - Support customers by answering technical questions on Distribution Automation product operation, application, instruction book interpretations, field failure analysis and field replacement or correction. - Visits customers and provide support related to operation, reliability, application and perform on site quality corrections and upgrades. - Lead the problem resolution, analysis and correction process. - Evaluate and assign design improvements to engineering staff and follows up on schedule and effectiveness of assignments. - Directly handles complaints from major customers. Filters all customer complaints and requests for assignment. Interfaces with all departments, especially marketing and development, for feedback and improvement of customer support activities. - Perform Distribution Automation equipment acceptance and commissioning testing at customer locations. - Communicate with and respond to customers, sales representatives and other personnel in providing technical and application assistance related to Distribution Automation. - Review specifications, drawings and other technical information as may be necessary. - Review and investigate engineering product lists, bills of material, drawings, schematics and other technical data to determine compatibility and application issues. - Review engineering releases, and maintain and update technical literature and brochures, and arrange for printing of revisions or changes. - Develop Application Notes and present them at seminars. - Support Marketing and Sales in new business development. - Communicate and meet with production, engineering, other departments, and customers and sales personnel on Customer Support related issues. - Assist, instruct and train new or other employees on methods, systems and use of equipment. - Maintain a clean and safe work environment in line with company policies and procedures. Perform other marketing duties, or other duties as may be assigned. - 20-30 % travel may be required. | | | | BS | | | | | | | KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Requires 1-3 years previous experience with electrical power systems automation. Knowledge of industry standards, symmetrical components, fault analysis, protective relaying principles (transformer, feeder, motor, and generator protection) MODBUS, DNP 3.0, and IEC 61850 is required. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service to customers and sales personnel via the phone, customer visits, and presentations.
