LTI, a leading federal contractor, is seeking highly motivated professionals for supporting federal clients engaged in energy infrastructure research and analysis. This work includes activities related to the investigation of data, information, and knowledge relevant to the study of discrete, existing energy assets and systems of assets functioning in an interrelated manner within a particular energy sector or region of the US. These energy systems include, but are not limited to (1) electricity production/transmission facilities and technologies; (2) oil production/refining/storage/pipeline facilities and technologies; and (3) natural gas production/processing/storage/pipeline facilities and technologies.

Individual will be responsible for performing activities/research leading to the discovery and explanation of processes and/or business arrangement between energy infrastructure elements or sectors and non-energy elements or sectors in order to summarize and explain all significant facts of the existing energy infrastructure asset. These activities may include the following:

  • Research existing assets and systems to discern accurate, comprehensive, and concise descriptions of assets with respect to their physical construction, operational capacity and status, and their connection to other assets in similar or different infrastructure sectors;
  • Research, assess for relevance, and summarize important historical events relevant to the existing asset or system such that the end user could derive an indication of the susceptibility of the asset or system to similar future events.
  • Research feedstock, fuel, or operation supply providers(s);
  • Research method of provision or delivery of feedstock, fuel, and operational supplies; and
  • Research business arrangements between subject energy infrastructure owner(s)/operator(s) and provider(s) of feedstock, fuel, or operational supplies.

Positions involve conducting research and preparing concise written analysis of existing energy infrastructure systems. Candidates should have demonstrated working experience with one of more of the above mentioned energy infrastructure systems and/or regionalized networked energy systems, and a background in developing analyses of same. Candidates should be highly-organized and be able to work independently or as part of a team. Minimum qualifications include:  BS/MS degree in an engineering discipline (chemical, petroleum, electrical, mechanical, or industrial preferred), or related scientific/engineering field; 5+ years industry experience; excellent communication and writing skills, and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
