PacifiCorp is one of the lowest-cost electricity producers in the United States, providing more than 1.6 million customers with reliable, efficient energy.
This position will provide technical GAAP, FERC, and regulatory jurisdictional research and documentation of the Company's position with respect to financial reporting and regulatory accounting of income taxes. This position will manage client support relationships with business unit and finance counterparts at the Company. Project management including project leadership, task identification, scheduling and coordination. Coordination with other income tax functions including compliance, issues resolution and regulatory tax. Responsibilities of this position include the following management and review of:
- Manage the calculation of the corporate income tax accrual on a US GAAP and FERC basis
- Manage the presentation and disclosure of income tax balances on the audited financial statements including SEC and FERC reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Manage the calculation of the corporate income tax accrual and balances on rate cases and jurisdictional filings.
- Manage management reporting on the corporate income tax accrual including budgeting and forecasting on a US GAAP basis.
- Manage, perform calculations and support the income tax calculation in the 10 year business plan.
- Income tax general ledger account reconciliations and manual journal entry postings.
- Performance and documentation of key financial control processes pertaining to the income tax cycle.
- Analysis of key financial reporting metrics including effective tax rates and variance analysis.
- Coach and develop staff.
- Review and evaluate performance and prepare annual reviews.
Requirements for the position include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or other applicable fields or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7 years experience in industry/5 years experience in public accounting.
- 3 years of direct people management.
- Solid knowledge of FAS 109.
- Experience preparing income tax accruals.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex and technical issues.
- Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing business environment with typically tight schedules.
- Strong ability, desire and initiative to self-study technical aspects and self-develop the skills required for this role.
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the above requirements and have the following:
- CPA certification.
- Masters degree in accounting, tax, or law.
- Experience with SAP financial systems.
- Experience with utility accounting.
- Experience in SOX 404.
