Job Description: The United Illuminating Company, headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut is an investor-owned regional electric utility that provides service to more than 320,000 customers in the greater New Haven and Bridgeport area. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team in our Shelton facility. Provides scheduling expertise to project managers through the Center of Project Excellence. Provide project management for large, complex multi million dollar and multi year substation and transmission projects associated with UI’s 10 year plan. Manage a defined program of distribution system projects for which engineering and/or construction may be provided principally by external resources (contractors and consultants). Participate in the development and implementation of project management process improvements across the company. Provide project management coaching and mentoring to project team members. May serve as assistant project manager for other large, complex projects or programs. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering and eight years of related technical and project management scheduling experience in a construction environment, or electric utility experience including project management scheduling experience in electrical Transmission & Distribution. Certification as a PMI Scheduling Professional is required or obtained within a year of the hire date. Demonstrated project management scheduling, leading cross-functional teams to build CPM schedules for all types of projects. Experience and proficiency in the use of project management information systems and planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera. Effective communication skills.
