Job Description The Blenheim-Gilboa Electrical/Test Maintenance Department within the Power Supply Business Unit is seeking to hire a dedicated and motivated individual to join the electrical engineering team at the Gilboa site. The individual will be responsible for assisting the Electrical/I&C Superintendent in the review and implementation of corporate designs of electrical systems associated with complex foreign and domestic electrical equipment to ensure plant reliability and system integrity. The incumbent will investigate and review technological changes within the utility industry to ensure adequate training, development and motivation of personnel. Initiates budget proposals, design improvements to methods and plant equipment to increase efficiency and reliability, reviews specifications on major contracts, reviews protective relay operations and develop reports and is involved in outage coordination duties. Proven success in the management of technical and administrative aspects of fast-paced and emergent projects is required. The candidate will be expected to represent the Authority at industry conferences and within various professional societies. Required Skills The successful candidate will demonstrate strong oral, written and inter-personal communication skills, and the ability to exercise independent judgment and contribute effectively as both a team leader and individual contributor on multi-discipline projects. In addition, the following competencies are required: Planning Getting the Job Done Leadership Collaboration Decision Making Communication Required Experience The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering combined with a minimum of 10 years applicable experience. A New York State professional engineering license is required for the senior level position, master’s degree preferred. The candidate must have an understanding of power system theory and a general knowledge of hydroelectric generating facilities, including both substation and transmission equipment. Working knowledge of industry codes and standards such as ANSI, IEC, IEEE, NEC and NFPA, is required. Job Location Gilboa, NY, US. Position Type Full-Time/Regular
