This position is for the License Renewal Group, focusing on preparing License Renewal Applications for nuclear facilities. Specific needs are for an electrical or civil engineer. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Perform License Renewal Application engineering activities. This includes scoping, screening, aging management, implementing programs, identification of commitments and implementing procedures and interaction with site system managers and program owners. After submittal of the LRA, responsibilities include preparation of RAI responses and interface with NRC inspectors during team inspections and audits. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1) Performs engineering reviews in accordance with 10 CFR 54 that support the License Renewal Application. 2) Reviews plant design basis and licensing basis documents for applicability to the License Renewal Application. 3) Interfaces with site system managers and program owners in their acceptance of the engineering reviews for license renewal. 4) Identifies changes to plant procedures that will implement the required aging management activities for license renewal. 5) Prepares RAI responses from the NRC review of the LRA. 6) Interfaces with NRC inspectors during their inspections and audits. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in engineering. Preference is for degrees in electrical engineering or civil engineering Nuclear plant experience, preferably in both design and plant systems support. Experience with design basis and licensing basis documents. Demonstrated acceptable performance in establishing good working relationships with internal and external customers. Demonstrated written, oral, and analytical skills. Demonstrated skills in PC word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. POSITION SCOPE: -Possesses excellent technical expertise as either a multi-disciplined technical leader or as a specific discipline expert. -Recognized as an Industry Expert in area or discipline. -Performs independently in specialty area and actively imparts knowledge to others (established technical mentor). -Has wide latitude to make technical decisions within accountabilities.
