Responsibilities Summary of Responsibilities, Essential Duties & Expectations: The Forecasting Analyst/Associate is responsible for assisting in the management of databases and models for the purpose of forecasting energy consumption. Understanding of linear regressions, sql queries and databases structure are essential to maintaining and updating data and forecasts fundamental to managing short term and long term electric energy supply market positions. Essential Duties and Expectations include; ¿ Maintain statistical models for load forecasting and analysis ¿ Collaborate with other forecasters for timely and accurate data ¿ Updating and maintaining data to improve forecast accuracy ¿ Working with senior forecasters, pricing team and other regional personnel to ensure data sharing, appropriate forecast application, and explanation of forecasting methodology and risks Qualifications Qualifications (Experience, Competencies, Skills, Education): The Forecasting Analyst should possess the following qualifications: ¿ Bachelor¿s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Statistics or equivalent applicable experience. ¿ Basic computer skills including experience with databases, MS Office Suite and sql programming. Experience with programming in C and Matlab a plus. ¿ Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a background in the areas of mathematics, economics, statistics or other quantitative disciplines. Knowledge of regression techniques essential to success in this position. ¿ Detail oriented and the ability to prioritize work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. ¿ Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. ¿ Knowledge of power and natural gas markets a plus.
