Responsibilities Job Summary: The Associate, Asset Operations is responsible for the bidding and scheduling of generation assets in various markets throughout the US and Canada and will act as an interface between Portfolio Management and the various ISOs. Responsibilities also include reconciliation of generation and load, the calculation, analysis and reporting of plant performance and outage statistics as well as providing projections of future plant performance. Reports To: Vice President - Asset Operations Primary Responsibilities: - Communicate with plant, operations and portfolio management personnel to accurately bid and schedule generating assets into various markets throughout the US and Canada. - Analyze and report on plant performance and outage statistics as well as provide projections of future plant performance. - Act as liaison with internal and external customers. - Stay abreast of ISO requirements and remain in compliance with applicable rules and regulations. - Assist in the development of the 5 year generating unit planned outage schedule. Obtain appropriate ISO approvals, maintain in house database and publish updated schedule. Qualifications Knowledge: - Basic economic and financial principles. - Basic power plant knowledge Skills/Abilities: - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization. - Ability to multi-task and pay attention to details. - Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. - Ability to use computer programs/applications and develop spreadsheets, reports, and presentation materials. Experience: - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the power industry Education/Training: - College level coursework (or its equivalent) is preferred but not required. Other (including physical requirements, working conditions, etc.): - Willingness to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.
