Responsibilities The Production Manager is responsible for managing the operations group and is responsible for plant production employing sound safety, environmental, and operating principles within the guidelines of the Power Purchase and Operating Agreement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Manage the Operations group of twelve (12) employees including ten (10) Plant Technicians and (2) Auxiliary Technicians. - Provide an environment that fosters superior Safety awareness and Environmental Stewardship through the implementation and support of the Safety Management System and Environmental Management Systems - Using established employee selection guidelines, hire, train, and supervise plant operating personnel - Develop, refine, and administer plant operating procedures - Manage production at facility within safe and legally permissible limits. Meet or exceed daily generation budget - Administer plant operating budget, identify areas of production optimization, and make recommendations for production improvement - Work with partnership to optimize/test various fuels/lime for best return - Establish and maintain housekeeping standards - Promote the spirit of teamwork and productivity among operating personnel. Promote a union free philosophy. Qualifications - A technical undergraduate degree or the equivalent - Five or more years of CFB fired power generation experience. Significant practical experience, including demonstrated leadership qualities, may be substituted for a technical degree. - Minimum of 5 years previous supervisory experience in electrical generation or similar industrial fields.
