Exelon is seeking a Director of Evaluation and Planning to direct the Corporate Capital Governance process, the analytical support for strategic initiatives, and the analysis of key planning assumptions and ad hoc senior management requests as well as directs development of equity valuation models. This role directs the review of proposed capital and commitment projects subject to the Exelon Capital Approval Process (ECAP), ensures the performance of rigorous financial analysis for ECAP-level capital and commitment projects and oversees the conduct of the Capital Review Committee (CRC) cross-functional corporate review process. This position also develops and maintains analytical tools and models to quickly analyze strategic initiatives and provide assistance to senior managers and provides analytical resource knowledge base while leveraging corporate planning model and operating company expertise. The Director of Evaluation and Planning also directs the execution of the Corporate Capital Deployment process and the identification and implementation of process improvements as well as leverages benchmarking performed by the Operating Companies and performs other quantitative analyses to aid in the identification and implementation of appropriate capital spend levels for business units. Necessary projects for this role will include performing peer group analysis to inform planning process based on equity valuation models for regulated utilities and merchant generators using multiple valuation techniques including DCF, P/E, EV/EBITDA, replacement cost while ensuring integrity and rigor of risk return assumptions across financial valuation, forecasting, and cost of capital models based on strong knowledge of key financial and risk metrics including ROIC, FFO/Debt, RAROC. This role will lead the development and utilization of scenario planning by leveraging strong knowledge of energy industry fundamentals including power and fuels markets, environmental policy, and regulatory constructs; as well as broader macro economic trends impacting the sector. The successful candidate will have an MBA in Finance, CFA and a minimum of 10 years experience in a demanding financial analysis role covering a broad range of high-level investment type projects. Experience with project evaluation techniques is essential as is a proven ability to clearly communicate complex financial concepts/ results. Clearly demonstrated leadership capability, ideally managing high performance teams is required as is experience evaluating the energy industry.
