HelioSage Energy, a solar energy service provider, is looking for a Field Engineer with solar energy experience.Our Field Engineers work together with our Project Development Team to build commercial scale, distributed generation solar arrays. This includes site analysis, pre-engineering, and system installation.During installation Field Engineers work with EPC contractors, master electricians, integrators and installers to ensure the prompt and professional completion of projects.
Essential Functions:
Site Analysis (50%)
With our Project Developers, work from the office qualifying sites.
On-site analysis of rooftops and ground feasibility.
Help prepare and present proposals to clients.
Conduct preliminary reviews of construction drawings and site diagrams.
Help with system design for commercial projects.
Liaise with structural engineering firms to obtain structural affidavits.
Project Engineering & Management (50%)
Liaise with EPC firms, electrical contractors and installers to oversee and manage project installations.
Provide design and contract support for onsite foremen during the installation process.
Inspect installations and ensure engineering is second to none.
Ensure that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed.
Prepare and submit daily and weekly site construction reports.
Additional Job Standards or Requirements:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil) Experience: 2+ years of experience in project design and/or installation of solar energy systems preferred. Candidate should have experience with the PV Watts software package, solar shading theory, GIS systems, and the interpretation of construction drawings. A detailed understanding of the relevant electrical codes, building codes, and permitting procedures for commercial photovoltaic installations is a plus. NABCEP certification is a plus.
