Title: Manager Organization: Energy Efficiency Programs Department: Energy Efficiency Programs Job Code: 09-329 Qualifications: The Energy Efficiency industry is at the forefront of a nationwide effort. With concerns about global warming, greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and the modernization of the nation’s electric grid, many states are focused on and committed to achieving stated energy savings, CO2 emissions goals and peak demand savings over the next five to ten years. The Program Development section of Energy Efficiency is seeking a dedicated professional for its management team. The individual must demonstrate a high regard for personal accountability and the importance of delivering innovative products and services to our customers in a competitive environment. Must be highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to work alone and in teams. Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible in handling multiple assignments and able to meet deadlines. Make sound decisions through the use of traditional and creative solutions while measuring the risks and impacts of his/her actions. Bachelor’s Degree is required, with a degree in engineering, finance, or economics preferred. Master’s Degree preferred. Five to eight years business experience required, of which three to five years of utility or deregulated energy project management experience is required. Knowledge of and work experience with aggressive, competitive, market-driven utility marketing and demand side management and renewable energy initiatives preferred. Multi-family housing implementation or commercial and industrial market experience preferred. Excellent oral, written and presentation skills are essential. Strong and proven analytical skills required, including strength/experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Responsibilities: The Manager - Energy Efficiency is responsible for designing, implementing and managing new gas and electric energy efficiency and demand side management (DSM) programs, solar and other renewables, and other related initiatives for the Company. Responsibilities include all aspects of program delivery as well as writing responses to Public Service Commission directives, and overseeing sales and marketing efforts. Will manage implementation vendors and other contractors for program delivery. The manager will provide the road map for the roll-out of these programs, coordinating all functions across the department and Company. Additional responsibilities include working with the Public Service Commission, NYSERDA, NYC and other stakeholder organizations, to promote the interests of the Company. Must present summaries of program status, and provide updates to senior management and other internal and external audiences. Coordinates information flow to and from section and other departments. Must understand new DSM technical research carried out by various technical research bodies (EPRI, DOE, etc.). Should have a valid drivers license. Some travel may be required outside of New York; otherwise limited travel to attend meetings in Albany, New York City and Westchester.
