The New York Power Authority (NYPA) is the nation’s largest state-owned electric utility and one of New York State’s leading electricity suppliers. Some 80 percent of NYPA’s generation comes from clean, renewable hydropower. This electricity is transmitted along NYPA’s high-voltage power lines that crisscross the state. NYPA is also a national leader in promoting energy efficiency improvements, developing alternative energy sources and advancing clean energy technologies.
